Dua For Islamic New Year

Islamic New Year starts with a sad month Muharram, which marks the martyrdom of Umar (RA) and Hussain (RA) in the battle of Karbala.

This dua is being told by Sahabah (Companions of Prophet Muhammad PBUH), to be recited as much as one can on the first day of Islamic New Year.

Usually, people ask questions like how many times should we recite this dua, then let me clarify that you can recite it as per your liking, if you want to recite it for just one time, then there is no problem. But even if you recite this more than one time, it will just add good deeds to your account.

That dua is as follows;

OH ALLAH! ENTER IT UPON US WITHSAFETY AND FAITH, WITH PEACE ANDISLAM, AND WITH THE CONSENT OF THECOMPASSIONATE AND THE PROTECTIONFROM THE DEVIL.

This dua is essential for a person because in this he or she is asking Allah, Prosperity, safety, and Imaan throughout this year.

Muharram is observed as a sad month because of the martyrdom of famous personalities such as the family of Prophet Muhammad PBUH who were brutally martyred in the battle of Karbala. This month has been widely observed by the Muslims all around the world to show respect to Prophet Muhammad PBUH’s family who had stood against Yazid’s army to save Islam.

Fasting in the month of Muharram is also considered to be sacred, especially fasting on the 9th Muharram and the 10th Muharram as it is the day of Ashura. There is a timeline of the people who lost their lives for Islam but never bow down in front of Yazid’s army, who was totally against Islam.

Do share this dua with your family, friends, and close relatives so that they can recite it and start their new Islamic year with the recitation of the Quran.
